"Save Wimbledon Speedway Campaign"
In response to the many calls we have received from people wanting
to try and help the club survive next season here is what can be
done to help raise funds for either a track share or for providing a
new home for the club if we can find one.
1). Make out a cheque payable to Wimbledon Speedway plc.
2). Enclose a stamped addressed envelope, so that if necessary the
cheque can be returned to you.
3). Enclose with the cheque a short statement (which you should sign
and date) as follows:-
"Please find enclosed a cheque for £???? This is a donation to
Wimbledon Speedway plc to help with the costs associated with either
arranging a track share in 2006 with another speedway club, or
providing a new purpose built track and stadium for Wimbledon
Speedway. The donation cannot be used for any other purpose and
must be returned if either of these events do not take place."
4). The cheques will only be cashed if Wimbledon Speedway plc can
firm up an agreement for next season, so if you send a cheque do not
expect to see the money leave your bank account for several months.
5). Address your cheques to "Save Wimbledon Speedway Campaign" 21
Malden Green Avenue, Worcester Park, Surrey, KT4 7SG.
6). We will place in the Speedway Star and local press details of
our campaign and will keep everyone appraised of how much we raise
on this discussion group and in the local media.
Lets hope that by all working together we can save the club and we
will list all donations in next seasons programme if we are
successful. Two hundred fans prepared to pay £100 each would I
think raise enough to secure the club for next season.
